Nature of Work

Perform various accounting tasks to ensure accurate and timely completion of work.

You will be undertaking accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general accounting with the ability to work autonomously. Experience with Australian tax legislation is essential.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly/annual Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet statements including all associated reconciliations in Xero
• Prepare tax provisions schedules, returns, payments, reports, and maintain the Company’s tax database
• Ensure compliance with Australian Tax legislation as this applies at National and State based level
• Provide tax advice to internal stakeholders
• Coordinate outsourced tax preparation work
• Accurately prepare quarterly and annual tax returns including Business Activity Statements (BAS)
• Keep up-to-date with tax changes and industry trends by participating in educational opportunities, participating in professional organizations, keeping up with professional networks, and reading professional publications
• Establish and distribute documents and maintain files as directed for tax general accounting documents
• Assist employees, vendors, clients, or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services.
• Prepare various daily, weekly, monthly, annual and job-to-date reports.
• Assume responsibility for certain function(s) in the day-to-day operation within tax and/or general accounting.
• Routinely report/update progress towards department initiatives to senior/supervisory personnel
• Prepare special reports and complete other projects as directed.
  Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization.

Education

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
• Degree from a 4-Year University/College within Accounting, Business, Finance, or related discipline essential

Experience

• A minimum of three years or more of related work experience with Australian based entities is required
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license is preferred
